Sidestepping many of the hassles and frustrations of regular offline ventures, online marketing is the ideal business to start for ourselves. But if it’s so attractive, why do most people fail to earn any money on the Internet? Here is a list of the biggest mistakes people make when creating their Internet marketing businesses:

Having a Get-Rich-Quick Mentality

Despite what anyone says, making real money online requires a consistent effort over an extended period of time. Ask anyone who has made a good amount of money, and you will learn that just about all of them did it through plain old fashioned hard work. The fact of the matter is that Internet marketing is, in the end, a business, and behind any successful business are blood, sweat and tears.

Now don’t get me wrong, having the right teachers can drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to be profitable, but the fact remains that your success can only be achieved if you work at it for a period of time. In Internet marketing, there’s no such thing as “get rich quick”.

Lack of Focus

This is a big error that affects a lot of people trying to make cash on the Internet. There are just so many different ways to make money on the Internet. You offer other people’s products with affiliate offers, or sell a product of your own. You can make money using PPC ads, or use PPC ads to sell products and make money that way. There are so many different methods you can try, and often, we find ourselves caught up trying new things, constantly jumping from one thing to the next. Unfortunately, a lack of focus is going to not only seriously hinder your business, but you are also going to end up spending a fortune on different courses and products that teach you these new methods.

The best thing you can do? Adopt one method that makes sense to you and follow it through as best you can. Give it a solid six months to a year of effort at a minimum and see how things are working out. If you’re seeing some good return on your efforts, keep pressing forward. If nothing significant is happening, then and only then should you consider a new approach.

Giving Up

Finally, I have to point out the biggest thing keeping people from Internet marketing success, and that is giving up too early. We’ve now discussed that success in Internet marketing – and in anything – requires a concentrated effort over an extended length of time. Eventually, you will hit a “turning point” in your business – when things really start gelling and you are starting to enjoy the benefits. However, before that happens, it will appear that nothing is happening, and unfortunately, many people mistake this for failure and decide to throw in the towel.

The truth is that Internet marketing works if you work it, and in order for it to work, you need to keep working until you reach the turning point. Give up prematurely and you’ll never know if your plan works or not.

What’s It All Mean?

Focused effort over time is the sole way to succeed. Internet marketing expert Alex Goad has made a groundbreaking program designed to help you make a boatload of cash online called Google Conquest. Introduced in December 2008 and closed to the public shortly after, Google Conquest has been helping members earn a fortune online through proven Internet marketing principles. But on June 16th, Alex will be accepting new members into this revamped program – now relaunched as Conquest Authority. To reserve your spot, read this exclusive Conquest Authority review from an actual member, and find out about a killer Conquest Authority bonus package you can receive if you act today.

Google Conquest

Alex Goad is launching his revolutionary product called Google Conquest – an “one-stop-shop” solution to niche promotion.

I’ve been following Alex for a long time since he’s a fellow Canadian and uber successful affiliate marketer & entrepreneur – he is quite inspiring really.

He’s released many rock solid products that I’ve personally used to start my affiliate marketing career off the ground rolling and suffice to say, whatever he says really works.  With one obvious caveat, you have to take MASSIVE ACTION in order to succeed - which is essentially like everything else in life.  If you were to just read a book about completing an IronMan triathlon, it is very unlikely you’d cross the finish line by just reading it, you actually have to put in the time and the dedication to training and do all the fundamental steps to get you there.  I treat internet marketing with the exact same methodology - read the materials, absorb it, and most importantly – take action!

The premise behind Google Conquest is as follows:

  • Micro-niching at the speed of light
  • Create ultra targeted, extra specific blogs full of content
(images and videos, your adsense blocks and affiliate links)

There is also a syndication aspect (likely a blog network) that not only allows you to grab authoritative, high PR links from various high-quality sites, it also gives you the option of having other content creators populate your web blog with their own unique content… There are many new products being released by various gurus that have similar functions – one major feature being a private blog network to use to promote your own money sites.   EVERYONE is preaching about locating affiliate products, creating Google hungry (SEO optimized) WordPress blogs, Squidoo Lenses, Web 2.0 pages, then using RSS bookmarking to tell Google to visit your pages which should have a keyword optimized backlink to your own affiliate link or your money site promoting the offer.   The process is very easy, but just takes some know-how to put in action – once you have it down pat, you just rinse and repeat over and over and over.

I’m eager to see what Alex’s system has in store but if the popularity of his last few offerings is any indicator, Google Conquest will definitely be a hit.
